{Blog # 10}

I agree 100% with Stephany because even though it’s morally wrong Capt. Doyle, Remy, and Lionel were putting Amanda’s best interest as their main priority. This also includes Angie because she then sees what they were trying to do for Amanda and she completely agrees with them. Patrick doesn't agree with any part of the plan he believes that every child should be with their own parent because since it was their parent that brought them into the world. He believes that all children be with their mothers, but he understands that Amanda was better off with Capt. Doyle. Patrick believes in ethical absolutism so he decide still remains correct.

Ann: Hey I have lots to tell you

Me: Okay go ahead tell me everything

Ann: I went out last night to the club and I met this guy, I swear it was love at first sight

Me: I highly doubt that but go ahead

Ann: He was so hot, killer body, great dresser, polite and sweet. He was giving me complements all night; he kept telling me I'm beautiful and sexy I was blushing the entire time. He is a decent guy; i believe he a really great guy

Me: You got all that just from a couple of hours with him

Ann: Yeah you can just know those types of things about a person just from spending a couple of hours with them

Me: That's not true. Let me give you some advise, men go to clubs to pick one night stands and nothing more so a guy goes up to you and he starts to give a exceed amount of complement then he's trying to pick you up that's all he wants to do and nothing more

Ann: That's not true not all guys are like that, yes a lot of guys are but there are still a handful who are decent

Me: I agree that there is still decent guys around but all guys that go to clubs with their friends are just looking for hookups and to keeping scoring a higher number on their list.

Ann: I think your right it's just it's not fair that guys do that us. What gives them the right to treat us that way

Me: They don't have the right but do it anyway. Listen I'm not telling don't talk to the guys at the club, i just telling you don't except anything serious.

Ann: Okay thanks for always having my back.

Me: Of course that's what friends are for.

Q: Do you think that males should be the more dominant sex?
by: Alysia
I believe that males were meant to be the more dominant sex. In everyones eyes women are fragile things and cant be dominant to anyone. Their may be certain times where females may be more dominant but that is on a rare occasion. Society showcases makes masculinity like something that should be praised were as women try to showcase themselves their viewed as a disappointment an embarrassment. They prefer males masculinity over a women's mind strength. Say were not pretty enough then we must not be good enough for anything but letting them cheat off our test and letting male succeed through our answers and if were too pretty we aren't smart enough at all and all we have to do is stand there and look pretty. A man who's hot or not just has to be masculine and thats enough.

{Blog # 5} Espiritu

Asian males were stripped of their masculinity. Asians were thrown into concentration camps because the American government wanted to make sure that Asians weren't a threat to America. The men were degraded, fired from their jobs, treated like animals, and were forced to live in cramped housing with their families. Asian got the worst part of discrimination from the American government. The government did it on purpose so that the families were to grow more distant. The relations between families were most important and if they grew distant then they had no connections. Through everything Asian males i believe were able to bounce back.

Q: Could the ethic origin affect men's masculinity?
By Cristhiam Alejandra Soto

I agree but also disagree that the origin affects men's masculinity. It does affect men's masculinity, their origin is a big part of who they are. It also doesn't affect them because it depends on how they were raised and their background.

Q: How do you think black males will be viewed in the future?
By Jenny Rodriguez

Black men pro-tray a certain image and because of couple of few examples there are lots of stereotypes. Black men are viewed very differently than many years ago; certain things may be better also many things are much worst. They are slaves anymore and have same rights as all others. Many characteristics and appearances have greatly worsen. Many years ago they were dressed poorly because they were slaves, now they wear baggie jeans below their hips and t-shirts passed their knees. The views on black males will stay as they are until something or someone motivates them to change.

Observations

The person is the photograph looks like a kid of about maybe eight or nine years old. He is standing on a football field with his full uniform on. The uniform looks sort of weird on him; I say this because the parts don’t seem to look like they fit him. The shoulder padding makes him look like he has very broad shoulders. Can’t really see his facial expression due to the helmet he has on. His posture shows that he doesn’t really want to be taking a photograph. He probably wants to go back to play football with his team. From the look of the team members in the background, he looks like he is the biggest one on the team. He is built more muscular than the rest.

{Blog # 4} Marable's

Throughout American history blacks were discriminated an against because of the color of their skin. Blacks were subsistent to their masters. Whites would physically abuse their African American slaves by castrating, lynching, raping, and stripping black men of their manhood. White males performed these punishments because they felt intimidated by African American. They could not fathom the idea that African Americans were smarter or more physically stronger so they prohibited blacks from reading and writing. Knowledge is power and whites stripped blacks from these basic rights because they feared that if blacks were given the chance to get an education, blacks would rebel against them. Basically, whites always want to be in control of resources, political and social power. Unfortunately, Africans were brought from their home unwillingly to be exploited and abused, and whites advanced.

{Blog # 3} Theroux's "The Male Myth"

In Theroux reading he clearly doesn't like the disadvantages that comes with being a man. I don't agree with the fact that men have to prove themselves to everyone. I think the only thing that should matter is if the man thinks he is manly enough. Everyone has high expectations of how men are to act and carry themselves especially women. Women are always challenging men to be more masculine. Men will always feel the need to prove themselves but in the end they don't need to prove anything to anyone.

{Blog # 2} Fausto-Sterling and Lorber

Fausto-Sterling and Lorber have similar and different ideas of identifying genders. Both articles are similar when it comes to speaking about men and women and their general differences and both articles are different because one speaks on how men and women are identified based on their appearances and the other on how men and women differ down from genetics and genes to how they are taught to act. No one thought is the same but they start from somewhere and take on different ideas and i believe both authors have different ideas that base on the same thought.

{Blog # 1} How To Build A Man

Are males born or made?

Well, I believe males were made because once they come into this world they are taught to become a man. First they are taught to crawl, then walk, then speak, and eventually are taught to become their own person. Parents are always the ones to choose how their children look physically. Even though each person is born by their physical features, it's usually how their body is functioning inside that tell us what gender they are. All of our anatomies are made. It may not be the way we normally make something but between a man and a woman a baby is made.

Sorry my post is late my Internet connection on my block was disturbed. Thanks
